Found Sounds

Anything can be used to make music! Take a look at this clip for an example of how music can be made with everyday items.

Look around your home for items that make sound. Take a pencil or a spoon and try tapping out rhythms. (...pots, pans, tupperware...or head outside and use the steps, railing, fence post...)

Primary Task: Create a rhythm with your found items. Perform for your family, or yourself in the mirror, or your stuffed animals.

Intermediate Task: Create a song with your found items. Write out the rhythms using music notes. Practice performing what you wrote.

Try an improvised performance (made up on the spot) and a rehearsed piece (performing what you practiced).
